BSNR trainee day Cardiff, Wednesday 9thof October 2019

This trainee day will take place on the day before the Annual Meeting of the British Society of Neuroradiologists. It will provide one day of intensive Neuroradiology teaching, as part of the 2-year BSNR rolling programme.

Topics: Neurodegeneration and metabolic/toxic disorders.

The course will focus on imaging appearances of various types of common and less common dementias and movement disorders and will include teaching on toxic and metabolic causes of neurodegeneration. Teaching sessions will cover standard cross-sectional clinical imaging techniques. There are sessions covering nuclear medical techniques to assess imaging and functional changes related to cognitive impairment and dementia.

Although aimed at neuroradiology subspecialty trainees, this course will also be educational for senior radiology trainees. It consists of a combination of lectures and workshops. The workshops will be limited to 8 delegates per groups to allow more individual teaching sessions. Starting at 11 am should allow the majority of delegates to travel to the venue in the morning of the trainee day. The course finishes at 6 pm and the evening course dinner will be integrated into the BSNR conference dinner which will be held at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff City Centre. The draft programme of the trainee day is attached below. In accordance with the CPD Scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists this course will provide 6 CPD credits. Delegates are encouraged to also attend the BSNR Annual Meeting which follows the trainee day and will take place at the same venue on the 10thand 11thof October.

Learning objectives:
