About Us

The British Paediatric Neuroimaging Group was formed in 2021, with the objective of working with the BSNR to elevate the level of Paediatric Neuroimaging in the UK to world class status.

Membership is available to all BSNR and BSPR (British Society of Paediatric Radiology) members who are involved in paediatric neuroimaging.

The current Chair is Dr Kshitij Mankad from Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Aims

To form a collaborative network of Paediatric Neuroradiologists and Paediatric Radiologists with a special interest in Neuroimaging.

To provide guidance and support to practitioners of Paediatric Neuroradiology in the UK.

To enable standardisation of practices across the country.

To create effective and sustainable education and training platforms.

To facilitate collaborative Paediatric Neuroradiology research in the UK.

To strengthen international collaborations.

Current Projects

Core Paediatric Neuroimaging Protocols

Standardised core imaging protocols for all aspects of Paediatric Neuroimaging, using a Delphi consensus technique. This will be realised with the Standards Subcommittee of the BSNR.

Paediatric Neuroimaging Teaching Network

Creation of a national teaching network for trainees interested in Paediatric Neuroimaging. Participating centres will offer dedicated interactive case based sessions on a rotational monthly basis. This stream will be aligned with the TESC Subcommittee.

Paediatric Leukodystrophy AI Group

Establishment of a national Paediatric Leukodystrophy Artificial Intelligence Group with the newly established BSNR AI Subcommittee.

Fostering International Collaboration

Fostering collaborations with ASPNR and ESNR, especially on the jointly created ‘International Pediatric Neuroimaging Teaching Network’ and ‘Four Seasons- an ESNR offering’.

The International Pediatric Neuroradiology Teaching Network is organised via our colleagues at the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology, but is available for free and provides high quality teaching content from across the world.
